Field Abandonment & Decommissioning

We offer a broad range of field abandonment activities and have extensive experience planning and delivering to meet regulatory and environmental expectations. We are capable of providing safe and sustainable services at all stages of decommissioning, including well abandonment, the removal of subsea pipelines, equipment and structures and the remediation and restoration of the marine environment.
MMA offers integrated decommissioning support services including well abandonment support, platform and jacket removal, integrated reef solutions and pipeline and flexible recovery.
Capable of delivering throughout the entire life cycle of an offshore decommissioning campaign, our in-house engineering teams in Perth, Singapore and Aberdeen have the technical knowledge and experience to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions for all types of decommissioning activities:
- Pre-well plug and abandonment activities from our Light Construction Vessels
- Detailed design and fabrication of Intervention and asset recovery equipment
- Decommissioning and de-energising of recovered subsea assets
Additionally, MMA’s fleet of anchor handling tugs and PSVs are proven platforms for the removal of floating assets including mooring and anchor recovery, mid depth buoy recovery, FPSO and turret disconnection and towing.
Project Experience
MMA was contracted by Allseas for the provision of grouting services and grout material on two drilling platforms that are to be decommissioned on the UK Continental Shelf.
In June 2015, MMA successfully completed a displacement pile grouting project for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd in Malaysia.
